My Story

Welcome — I’m So Glad You’re Here

I’m Hema Malini. For 15 years, I chased conventional success—climbing ladders, and securing more. Yet, somewhere between the tight deadlines and the applause, I realized those ladders rarely led to true joy. Life has a way of stripping us down to our true essence when we need it most.

"My awakening came during the 2015 Chennai Floods. Trapped for a week without electricity, running water, or phone signals, we were completely severed from the modern world. Soon after, demonetization hit, leaving us overnight with useless high-value notes and very little cash for basic survival."

When crisis stripped away power and everyday luxuries, the illusions of wealth vanished overnight. Rich and poor stood in the exact same lines just to secure a basic meal. Yet in that dark hour, humanity rose.

Across the city and state, volunteers rallied, while rural communities shared crops grown with their own hands. It was a profound unity—a true spirit of togetherness that no political party could ever manufacture. Differences melted away as neighbors shared their last morsels, proving that when everything else falls away, human connection is all that remains. We learned that we need far less than we think to thrive, but we need each other to truly live.

In those quiet days, I began documenting how minimalism sprouts from resilience, sparking a movement that transformed my life—giving up television, living without a refrigerator for eight years, and choosing conscious, intentional living. What began as an article blossomed into a thriving YouTube community in October 2018, touching thousands. Initially guiding lives through Minimalism, Law of Abundance, and Detox programs, it has now matured into a powerful movement for authentic abundance.

The Birth of the 1 Crore Sustainitude Movement

As a Keynote Speaker, Author, and Sustainable Lifestyle Coach, my mission through the 1 Crore Sustainitude Movement is simple: to empower you to live lightly, purposefully, and authentically. Sustainitude is the mindful confidence to live well and with intent. Minimalism isn’t about deprivation—it’s about making space for what truly matters. Through keynotes, immersive workshops, and personal coaching, I help people rewrite their stories—turning everyday overwhelm into lasting abundance.
